Dr Ana Lusicic is a Hobart-based Consultant Psychiatrist with the Tasmanian Health Service, providing acute psychiatric care within a contemporary hospital-in-the-home model.
She has extensive experience across youth and adult mental health services in Australia and Canada, with a particular focus on adolescent and young adult populations. Her clinical work includes acute psychiatry, complex diagnostic assessments, and risk formulation, particularly in young people presenting with early psychosis, trauma-related disorders, personality vulnerability, and co-occurring substance use.
Dr Lusicic has held senior clinical roles in youth psychiatry at Orygen Youth Health in Melbourne and assistant professor position at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and University of Toronto. In these roles, she worked with young people with complex, high-risk presentations, often requiring multidisciplinary and cross-system coordination.
She has experience working with young people in custodial and statutory settings, including youth justice at Parkville Youth Justice Centre and within specialist assessment teams at Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
Dr Lusicic has also contributed to the Victorian Telehealth Second Opinion Scheme, providing independent psychiatric opinions in relation to patients’ care and treatment under Mental Health legislation.
Her medicolegal work focuses on independent psychiatric opinion in youth and young adult mental health, particularly in cases involving complex presentations, trauma-related conditions, and diagnostic or treatment considerations.
In Tasmania, she has contributed to the development of a public youth mental health service model, including service design in a resource-limited setting.
Dr Lusicic is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), holds a Master of Science in Affective Neuroscience and is a board member of the RANZCP Section of Youth Mental Health.
